April 15th Club Meeting

Today our speaker was Kara Elliott from the YMCA. She spoke to us about the different programs that YMCA offers as well as some facts and history about the YMCA. She specifically runs the swimming lessons program and spoke to us about the program.

Club Announcements

1) The Mother's Day Brisket Sales Forms are complete and have been emailed to everyone. Please go out and sell those briskets.

2) Club Leadership Training is Saturday, May 4th. If you are an incoming officer and would like to attend please let Mike Castro know. The training is at San Jacinto College North.

3) CAM Pack is this Friday the 19th.

Good News

1) Mike Reiland - Mike sponsored a golf tournament for Texas Adaptive Aquatics and received a plaque. He has been sponsoring them for 10-12 years. Also, one of his horses has been in the hospital a week waiting to deliver a baby.

2) Alan Brevard - Alan has been involved with Rotary since 1996 and his finally going to his first District Conference. Also, Alan was able to trim the hedges without cutting through the power cord this year.

3) Stan Carr - Stan won't be here next week because he will be at a conference in Atlanta. A week from Thursday is the day that all of the Salvation Army officers receive their assignment. So, he will know if he is staying here or moving to another assignment. Also, his daughter-in-law is graduating this week with an honors degree in Hospital Administration.

4) Michelle Shore - I became a Rotarian!

5) Brandt Smith - happy to get time to speak to us at the beginning of the meeting.

6) Virginia Carlton - Brandt and his wife were mad at her because they came to her house and she was out of wine.

7) Andrea Wiley - in July Scott and Andrea are going on a mission trip to Bolivia.

8) Marilyn Farrell - her son who became a real estate agent about six months ago made his first sale.

9) Gwen Durrenberger - Charlie and Gwen finally have a working refrigerator.

Special Items

Today the club inducted two new members. Brandt Smith and Michelle Shore were installed as our newest members. Congratulations to them!
