Club Announcements

1) We are still missing a few members that have not signed up for a committee. If you have not done that yet, please do so.

2) Marilyn gave a recap of District Assembly. Our District Governor visit will be in October. The city of Houston is putting in a bid for International Conference for 2022. Our new ADG, Diane Hill, is actually Jennifer Baker's mother. There is a Rotary Dinner coming up soon that will be held on the deck of the Battleship of Texas. More details to follow. District Conference for next year will be held in New Orleans.

3) Charlie Durrenberger is still working on getting better and would love visitors. If you would like to visit him please get in touch with Gwen about where.

Good News

1) Stan Carr - He and his wife were in Florida for a Salvation Army Leadership Conference and had a few people following them on the way. On I-12 a truck crossed lanes and hit some of the people with them. Luckily everyone walked away fine. He said it was one of the most sacred weeks he has experienced at the Conference. This week he received their Farewell Orders and will be leaving us in 5 weeks to work in Dallas. Stan will be greatly missed.

2) Virginia Carlton - She starred in a television commercial that was filmed in Tulsa and no one will ever see it she says! On their way through Branson her husband passed out driving and will not be driving anymore. They also visited a place called Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and stayed in a log cabin by the lake and loved it.

3) Leslie Martone - She has been in remission of MS for 7 years.

4) Randy Kennedy - Thank the Lord for the great weather.

5) Mike Flowers - Had a good doctors appointment with the follow up on his knee. Mike was away in Dallas the last few weeks and had to miss our meetings. He will miss next week as well because he and his wife will be celebrating their anniversary in the Virgin Islands.

6) Andrew Walker - Andrew and his wife took a kid-free trip to Austin and had a great time sleeping, eating and relaxing.

7) Ray Young - Thanks to Mike Castro and Alan Brevard for getting Kivin to the International Festival.

8) Alan Brevard - His son was at a Boy Scout camp over the weekend and the troop stopped in Buffalo for lunch. While there he called his Grandparents to meet them at Dairy Queen for lunch all on his own accord.

9) Mike Castro - Enjoyed the privilege of hosting Kivin at the International Festival. He discovered that for some reason that San Diego is really funny to the Taiwanese.
