August 11th Club Meeting

Today our speaker was Brian Carr from the Rotary Lombardi Award Committee of the Houston Rotary Club. Brian spoke to us about the history of the award and that the funds go to Cancer research.

Club Announcements

1) CAM Sack Pack is this Friday the 15th at 5:00pm at Cypress Assistance Ministries.

2) The club's District Grant has been approved.

3) Please pay your Club Dues as soon as possible.

Good News

1) Mike Castro - Last Saturday Mike attended the Rotary Vision training. He learned that all the club's troublemakers sit in the corner spots in the meeting. FYI Gwen and Virginia were sitting on the corners. Take from that what you will.

2) Mike Flowers - Had a great evaluation for Little League State. As of this morning's he has now lost 50 pounds!

3) Kevin Smith - Marilyn and Kevin survived the weekend with his 3 grand-daughters.

4) Virginia Carlton - Sunday was her birthday. She is back from Vale and loved the scneery. She went to Street Fair and Rotary was there promoting Youth Exchange students and there is a walk to the 7 highest mountains to raise money for Diabetes sponsored by Rotary.

5) Marilyn Farrell - Keith informed her over the weekend that Exxon has sent the club a $1,000 check.
