Today our speaker was Wayne Beaumier with Disaster-Aid USA. Wayne spoke to us about the great things they are doing in disaster relief efforts both domestically and internationally. http://www.disasteraidusa.com/
Club Announcements
1) The Club received the $1,000 donation from Exxon.
2) For those members participating in the Rotary Lombardi Award Dinner please make your checks payable to the Cy-Fair Rotary Foundation and the Foundation will send in the check for the sponsorship.
3) There will be no meeting on Labor Day.
4) Please pay your dues.
5) If you would like to attend the Reach Unlimited Fundraiser on October 9th from 12pm-1pm please let Marilyn know.
Good News
1) Mike Castro - The CAM Sack Pack had a great turn out and he enjoyed serving with others.
2) Mike Reiland - Mike got to meet Mickey Gilley at a fundraiser last Saturday night and his voice was still great. The fundraiser was for Special Cheers.
3) Mike Flowers - He is participating in the 10th Annual Independent Volunteer Fire BBQ cook-off. He is proud of the Pearland Little League World Series team, but unbeknownst to most people the West University Senior World Series team is the World Champion.
4) Keith Peterson - The Shield Bearer party is on September 4th at Tin Hall.
5) Marilyn Farrell - Her 7 year old granddaughter caught her first fish on her pink Barbie rod this weekend as was so excited.
6) Virginia Carlton - Even though her husband, Jim, can't drive right now he bought a new car.
7) Ray Young - Kaitlyn just moved to Colorado Springs to begin her job as general manager of Code One a medical billing company. Abbey who is working with Allstate in Chicago just moved into a new high-rise. Shelley helped her with that and is safely home. Faith is in Norman, OK and starting her first week of classes. Ray just made his next to last tuition payment.
