August 19th Club Meeting

Today our speaker was Patricia Swift. Patricia spoke to us about her serving alongside the Salvation Army and Stan Carr with the Oklahoma tornado relief effort.

Club Announcements

1) Leslie Zang and Jackson Beard from the Cy-Woods Interact Club both received recognition and $500 from the club for thier college tuition and fees.

2) New member, Brandt Smith, gave his classification speech.

3) New member application notices were given for Justin and Jennifer Baker as well as Melissa Essary.

4) The Fall Fundraiser is fast approaching and Marilyn Farrell has started distributing tickets. The club member that sells the most tickets this year will get a free weekend at Marilyn's lakehouse!!!

5) The trash pickup has been moved one week to Saturday, September 14th at 8:00am.

6) Our club's District Governor visit will be September 30th.

7) The Club is seeking new Foundation Board Members. If you are interested please speak with Jerry Albrecht.

Good News

1) There was a rare Tom Benson sighting. Glad to have you there Tom!

2) Brandt Smith/Virginia "Jennifer" Carlton - Virginia left her Kindle in the restroom at Intercontinental, but she got it back. Virginia's boat motor went out and got a new one and new neighbors came over and wanted to ride in their new boat. She saw Brandt and he brought them a bottle of wine.

3) Alan Brevard - Our exchange student arrived last Thursday and should come see us soon. Had a great weekend with the Boy Scout camping trip in Lake Somerville.

4) Marilyn Farrell - Kevin is at the lakehouse waiting on the repairman to fix the washing machine, but he gets to spend a few days there by himself.

5) Mike Castro - Glad to see Tom Benson at the meeting today.
