July 7th Club Meeting

Today our speaker was Jacob Duke. Jacob is the EMS Training Coordinator with the Cy-Fair Voluntary Fire Department. Jacob spoke to us about the history of the Cy-Fair EMS department and what all services they perform.

Club Announcements

1) District Membership Seminar is July 26th at the HCC campus at Westlake and Hwy 59.

2) This Saturday Marilyn will be making the club's presentation for our District Grant request.

3) Next Rotary Board meeting will be held at Carl's BBQ on Monday, July 14th at 11:00am.

4) There will be a Club Assembly on July 21st.

Good News

1) Mike Castro - Fantastic Installation that Marilyn ran. It was a great event and he had a wonderful time.

2) Virginia Carlton - She went to the Duck Pull for the Bear-Creek Rotary Club and the only person from our club that won anything was Mike Flowers.

3) Alan Brevard - Last Friday he went with his wife to the West University Rotary Club fundraiser. Alan really liked the T-Shirt that the club uses and is looking into making shirts for our club.

4) Walt Zanek - He really enjoyed the Installation dinner and everyone was really nice to visit with. Also, he had a great weekend in Galveston.

5) Kevin Smith - Kevin had some of the best brisket this weekend that he didn't have to cook himself. Thank you to the staff at Carl's BBQ.

6) Randy Kennedy - Randy really enjoyed handing out the briskets at Carl's for the fundraiser. He also enjoyed eating the brisket.

7) Gwen Durrenberger - Thank you to the Sergeant-at-Arms for putting up the Past-President and Rotarian of the Year plaques.

8) Ray Young - Thank you Randy Kennedy and Gwen Durrenberger for helping out with handing out the briskets this past week. The club ended up selling 131 briskets. In the past half the money went to Carl's BBQ and this year Mike Reiland decided the club could keep all $50 for each brisket. Thank you so much Mike! That means we should have raised around $6,550 for Shield Bearer.
