March 10th Club Meeting

Today our speaker was Chad Greer with Habitat for Humanity. Chad spoke to us about the history of Habitat and the great things they are doing in Northwest Harris County.

Club Announcements

1) District Interact Conference is Saturday, April 5th at Channelview High School. We are not required to stay overnight now.

2) District Assembly for officers next year is April 26th at the HCC Southwest West Loop Campus. 8:30am to 1:00pm.

3) The new Rotary theme for 2014-2015 is "Light Up Rotary." The proposed officers for next year are President - Marilyn Farrell, President-Elect - Alan Brevard, Treasurer - Jennifer Baker, and Secretary - Melissa Essary. Andrew Walker will be the at-large board member. If you would like to nominate someone else or take on a position yourself let Marilyn know in the next few weeks. March 24th will be the formal vote.

Good News

1) Mike Flowers - Excited about heading to the State Little League Tournament again and one of his best friends will also be joining him. Had his second follow up with his knee surgery. According to Mike he is too stupid and aggressive because he worked a little too hard on the bike he bought for his rehab and now has additional rehab.

2) Wayne Beaumier - Excited to announce that he has nominated our club as Medium-Sized Club of the Year and Mike Castro as Club President of the Year with the District.

3) Ray Young - Thanks to Alan Brevard he was able to enjoy the Rodeo with our exchange student Kivin. Kivin enjoyed his first ever Rodeo.

4) Stan Carr - Stan got word from his youngest daughter that they will be coming in May and will get to meet their newest grandchild.

5) Gwen Durrenberger - Really enjoyed the turn out for the Reach Unlimited event on Saturday.

6) Kevin Smith - Had a great weekend at PETS with Marilyn and Alan or "Andrew" as he called him.

7) Mike Reiland - His first cousin is a past World Class Horseback Shooter. She is a double mastectomy breast cancer survivor. He watched her compete even at 60.

8) Marilyn Farrell - Thank you to Kevin and Alan for coming to PETS with her. Kevin's birthday is this week and he will be turning 60!

9) Alan Brevard - Really enjoyed PETS and he did not embarrass the club one time. If he did he said he was with the Willowbrook Club.
