October 27th Club Meeting

Today our speaker was Judy Bartay with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Judy spoke to us about the history of the event and all that the event encompasses.

Club Announcements

1) Please sell tickets and sponsorships for the Fundraiser. We are only about a week away.

2) David Feeser with Salvation Army is now an official member of our Rotary Club.

3) Randy Kennedy has sent out a schedule for the classification talks. Please make every effort to attend the day you are assigned.

Good News

 1) Alan Brevard - Went out with several people for the Road Rally to gather auction items last Friday. Then Saturday night he attended the RCC Fundraiser downtown at Amegy Bank. He didn't realized Brandt Smith would be there as well. They had a great time and promises he didn't embarrass the club. Based on his observances, Alan said that we are by no means the loudest or most over the top club in the District.

2) Ray Young - Shelley and Ray attended Keith and Sandra Peterson's party on Saturday night and had a great time dancing.

3) Kevin Smith - Kevin enjoyed the Road Rally as well and loved meeting the owners of several businesses in the area.

4) Randy Kennedy - Randy had fun at the information booth for the Cy-Fair Chamber last week. Randy loved spending time with his grandchildren over the weekend.

5) Brandt Smith - The reorganization at Siemens is over and he is happy to announce he knows his new role and has a job still.

6) Mike Flowers - In response to Alan's comment about our club not being the loudest and over the top club in the District. I'm working on it!

7) Elaine Combs - About a week ago she hosted a contingency group from Nigeria. In their club in Nigeria they always adopt a child. After the week spent with Elaine one of the Nigerians asked her if she could adopt him.

8) Mike Reiland - Mike did not make it to Keith's party because he had an event to attend for the International Committee he is on for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Mike forgot to mention it last week, but he enjoyed his vacation in Colorado. He ended up winning at a Casino on the way back that paid for the whole trip!
